8937th song (2023)
PERFORMANCE, 25 min

Since 2020, Melis Tezkan has been exploring playlists as alternative spaces for narration and their performative activation. In her new performance at Pickle Bar, the playlist becomes a sensorial space that gives form to questions of translation, interpretation, and omission. Polysemy, nonsense, and silence recompose the memories and challenges of language transcription and transliteration.
